Good post.

It's crappy that industries use their power to try and stop us from making the right choices. But eventually another one will come along to take it's place. I guess that's just how things work on a global scale. Glacier like.

I don't think it's just music. Most likely everything on the net/phone internet will probably be corporate in a few years. Free content will be so "2000".

I say we enjoy it while we can.

Good riddance. Of course, the intellectual property mafia is still trying to backpatch the remaining assets, which could still wreak havoc for years to come. So keep one eye open for those times when mob action is necessary? You are such a good inciter, after all.

A pretty good summary of how I feel as well. I burned out on the "industry" talk a year or two ago and dropped most of the blogs and sites. It all seemed silly and beside the point and had nothing to do with my life.

Thanks Victor. It was my search to the answer of your leading question that brought me over to CC and ccM in the first place. As a working musician, I saw the handwriting on the monitor. And while I still haven't figured it out (and have the bank account to prove it), I feel I at least understand and agree with everything in your post, which amazingly enough still isn't "common knowledge".

Look for as rash of new "music marketing gurus" in the mold of 1/2 assed Zig Ziglars passing off their "new angle" as the Way.
I have already seen this shit in my tiny little backwater..
