He is an acquired taste though, to get past the ..crankiness. He's also the kind of guy who'd take that advance and buy down his mortgage..and I understand his point, being a cranky Midwesterner myself, who is used to the ..what's the woid boid.."vagaries"? of the wunnerful whirl of professional music making. It also must be hard for him to fight the Replacements ReUnion Tour '08..as he likes to do things his way, but the $$ would be big. though.. I think he might have already done that. But as far as the music (what's that?) is concerned ..you right boss, he's no Townes..but then again.. Steve Earle ain't no Paul Westerberg either. btw, do you need me to call Billboard? I have the Chicago #, and I am sure they'd be happy to hear about cMixter and Magnatune..umm HUH.
